to bridge two seemingly opposed aesthetics \u2013 the elegant and the utilitarian.\u00a0 The minimalist beauty of its finely-polished aluminum exterior \u00a0brings a touch of rough-hewn class to a product that\u2019s usually packaged either in metal cylinders for wholesale industry use, or glass for in-home consumers.\u00a0 The package\u2019s playful use of graphics \u2013 a slight bit of rich oil made to look as if it\u2019s bursting from the seams, with infused produce adding another touch of color \u2013 and its sleek typography work in concert to catch eyes on every grocery aisle.<\/p>\n<p>2.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-473\" src=\"https:\/\/imagemme.com\/newsite\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/59e87cef755bb69ba466bc9b4aed3792-copy.jpg\" alt=\"59e87cef755bb69ba466bc9b4aed3792-copy\" width=\"624\" height=\"753\" its minimalist contemporary designs (and great wine, of course), goes the extra mile with this bottle by reining things in (pun intended).\u00a0 The rich olive tint of the glass \u2013 which compliments the wine\u2019s natural color wonderfully \u2013 is a great platform for the brand\u2019s stark, evocative image use.\u00a0 Less is more: particularly when it foregrounds such a graceful silhouette.<\/p>\n<p>3.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-482\" src=\"https:\/\/imagemme.com\/newsite\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/se4.jpg\" alt=\"se4\" width=\"538\" height=\"459\" srcset=\"https:\/\/imagemme.com\/newsite\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/se4.jpg 538w, https:\/\/imagemme.com\/newsite\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/se4-300x256.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 538px) 100vw, 538px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Selfridges\u2019 color palette \u2013 nothing short of astounding \u2013 is amplified ten-fold by the line\u2019s overall minimalism.\u00a0 A bold use of contemporary typography, and the brand\u2019s ubiquitous use of black, are a strong statement that makes one of any number of their products stand out individually, while also suggesting the strength of the whole.\u00a0 This design overlap also encourages pairings, which in turn underscores the elegance, and the quality, of the line.<\/p>\n<p>4.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-474\" src=\"https:\/\/imagemme.com\/newsite\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/Chromjuwelen-3.jpg\" alt=\"chromjuwelen-3\" width=\"833\" height=\"950\" mind when someone starts talking about elegant products.\u00a0 Mathe\u2019s approach? \u00a0Appeal to the vintage roadster-lover in all of us, and by turns, to the past \u2013 a great way to project legitimacy in an industry that doesn\u2019t see too many high-end, sophisticated ventures.<\/p>\n<p>5.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-477\" src=\"https:\/\/imagemme.com\/newsite\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/linn_gustafsson_apples_04.jpg\" alt=\"linn_gustafsson_apples_04\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" are traditionally worthy of sleek packaging, Linn Gustafsson has drawn out the natural beauty of an everyday, familiar object \u2013 reimagining its potential beyond the low-fi, low-budget cellophane bag of most produce sections.<\/p>\n<p>6.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-481\" src=\"https:\/\/imagemme.com\/newsite\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/old_spice_packaging_design_4.jpg\" alt=\"old_spice_packaging_design_4\" width=\"700\" height=\"732\" srcset=\"https:\/\/imagemme.com\/newsite\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/old_spice_packaging_design_4.jpg 700w, makeover of a highly visible classic pulls off bold without throwing the brand\u2019s weight around.\u00a0 The designs\u2019 limited color palette is also, by now, distinctly Old Spice, while the box lid\u2019s cheeky copy adds a welcome lightness of tone, making, on the whole, for an incredibly well-balanced combination of legitimacy, approachability, and reliability.<\/p>\n<p>7.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-478\" src=\"https:\/\/imagemme.com\/newsite\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/marmite.jpg\" alt=\"marmite\" width=\"550\" height=\"795\" srcset=\"https:\/\/imagemme.com\/newsite\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/marmite.jpg 550w, https:\/\/imagemme.com\/newsite\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/marmite-208x300.jpg 208w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Marmite\u2019s design team has the particular challenge of peddling a product that\u2019s known only regionally (Britain) and even among that demographic, is loved by a select group of breakfast fanatics (those who prefer salty-savory spreads on their morning toast to jam). \u00a0The bottle\u2019s bold design takes advantage of the product\u2019s natural color, while its typography and design mimic the constructs of certain mainstream condiments, but manage to convey an interesting combination of tones: presence, reliability, and humor.<\/p>\n<p>8.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-472\" src=\"https:\/\/imagemme.com\/newsite\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/21_11_10l02.jpg\" alt=\"21_11_10l02\" width=\"700\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/imagemme.com\/newsite\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/21_11_10l02.jpg 700w, https:\/\/imagemme.com\/newsite\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/21_11_10l02-300x214.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Body Bistro\u2019s frosted packaging and palette of rich creams speak to the sensuality, and the efficacy, of their product itself, while its sophisticated typography and graphic design generate a distinguished elegance.<\/p>\n<p>9.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-476\" src=\"https:\/\/imagemme.com\/newsite\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/Jack-Daniels-Sinatra-Select.jpg\" alt=\"jack-daniels-sinatra-select\" width=\"605\" height=\"449\" srcset=\"https:\/\/imagemme.com\/newsite\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/Jack-Daniels-Sinatra-Select.jpg 605w, https:\/\/imagemme.com\/newsite\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/Jack-Daniels-Sinatra-Select-300x223.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 605px) 100vw, 605px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Jack Daniels has been around long enough that they can shamelessly \u2013 if tastefully \u2013 \u00a0appeal to their rich history.\u00a0 That doesn\u2019t preclude them, however, from offering bold offshoots of their classic line.\u00a0 The \u201cSinatra Select\u201d is both of these things \u2013 the iconic singer was a notorious lover of JD \u2013 while the design team walked a wonderful line between contemporary, bold, retro, and refined.\u00a0 Bonus points for the color scheme reflects the whiskey\u2019s natural, rich amber.<\/p>\n<p>10.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-479\" src=\"https:\/\/imagemme.com\/newsite\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/Mucca_BrooklynFarCups.jpg\" alt=\"mucca_brooklynfarcups\" width=\"580\" height=\"375\" srcset=\"https:\/\/imagemme.com\/newsite\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/Mucca_BrooklynFarCups.jpg 580w, simple but effective use of bold color and flat design, with witty copy that speaks to the grocer\u2019s core, local, value proposition.<\/p>\n<p><em id=\"__mceDel\">\u00a0<\/em>Lesson to be learned?\u00a0 21<sup>st<\/sup> century elegance has entirely different connotations than its predecessors.\u00a0 Playfulness, even roguishness, and grace often go hand-in-hand in contemporary marketing and design. \u00a0Many companies\u2019 campaigns \u2013 from a varied range of personalities and an even wider spectrum of marketing demographics \u2013 are becoming more daring, and,
