Google, change your logotype to Corona

We recently noticed steps taken by Google to have a small portion of their landing page below the search bar devoted to spreading awareness about the virus. “DO THE FIVE. Help Stop Coronavirus,” which links you to some easy steps one can take to protect themselves and each other.

This is a great start, but why not take it a step further. Google gets more than 63,000 searches per second on any given day. That makes it the most seen website on any given day. Globally, Google.com takes the top spot with 60.49 Billion visits per month with the 2nd spot going to YouTube with 24.31 visits per month. Google is uniquely positioned to bring awareness to billions globally and that’s why we ask them to entertain the thought of changing their Logotype “Google” to “Corona” for the next month when, awareness is our greatest tool to counter this pandemic. We can’t do this alone. Join us on social media by sharing this post and tagging your friends to ask Google to undergo this temporary change to help further spread awareness with the hashtag #GoogleCorona. Stay safe. #GoogleCorona

We are living through extraordinary times to say the least. These times will call on all of us to do our part in fighting the coronavirus pandemic, as well as helping our communities, countries, and world get through the economic impact it is already having.
There are countries whose healthcare systems are already overrun with the virus causing health professionals to resort to choosing priority between which patients live and which die. This hasn’t been done since World War II, which shows how serious this virus has become and will continue to be. Even with all the knowledge we have, many people still do not take the virus seriously, most recently the crowds on some Florida beaches in the United States highlight this issue. This is a problem and awareness and understanding are key during this time, where there’s still a chance to flatten the curve we have all heard so much about.
