Disrupting the Space

The market for cannabis accessories — pipes, papers, grinders, vaporizers — was chalk full of unsophisticated, dated aesthetics.  This spoke to a certain segment of cannabis users, but it also left a whole chunk of other consumers out to dry. The market for cannabis accessory cleaning products, on the other hand, was non existent.

Navigating the Green Rush

Put simply, cannabis had gone from ‘stoner culture’ to mainstream overnight.  Higher Standards needed to appeal to — and help define — a grown-up connoisseur that sought a premium cannabis experience that just didn’t exist yet.

An Elevated Experience

The identity we developed would hit the reset button on industry trends: it would be minimal & sophisticated, and elegantly clean in the spirit of HS product function.  It would appeal to heavy cannabis users, but also to the timid user — someone not as familiar with cannabis culture & lingo, and who would want their smoking accessories to be chic: to fit in on a high-end coffee table, night stand, or shelf. Higher Standards launched with a flagship store in NYC’s Chelsea Market, and moved on to open West Coast pop-ups and a store in Miami soon thereafter.
